PERSONAL ITEMS (Herald Correspondent.) Miss Kathleen Hollever. Tokomaru Bay, has returned home after spending a three weeks’ holiday as the guest of her sister. Mrs. F. Gibbs. Palmerston North. —Mr. and Mrs. O. Sundberg have returned'home after spending the school vacation at Pukekohe and Gisborne.—Miss Jessie Mitchell returned this week alter spending a holiday in Waipawa and Queenstown. Miss Ruth JacksQn, Ormond, who has been the guest of Mrs. C. Squire, has returned home.—Miss Ngaire Hill is back at Tokomaru Bay after spending a holiday with her parents in Gisborne, and'latterly at Queenstown and Milford Track—Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Rolland and their two daughters, the Misses Betty and Dawn Rolland, returned last weekend, after spending the school vacation in the Auckland district.
Mr. S. Hamilton, who has been a guest at Te Puka Hotel, returned to Wairoa last week-end.—Messrs. G. Forbes and S. G. Lyle-Smythe visited Opotiki last week by motor-cycle, and were the guests of Mr. Forbes’ parents. Miss Constance Oates returned at the week-end from a fortnight’s holiday spent in Palmerston North as the guest of her grandmother, Mrs. Dobbyn.—Mr. W. L. Horton, Tuhua. has returned from a holiday spent in Hastings with his parents.—Miss Arnold, Te Puia Springs, who has been on holiday in Melbourne, has returned to the Coast. —Miss Janet Doig was a recent visitor to Gisborne as the guest of Mrs. P. Lockett. —Miss Audrey Tuke, Gisborne, has been the guest of Miss P. Todd.
Mr. and Mrs. L. Potts and their small son Graeme, Gisborne, were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. 11. D. Gardner. —Miss G. Hills has returned from a holiday spent in Tauranga.—Mr. and Mrs. J. Knox, Tolaga Bay, were the recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Knox. —Mr. and Mrs. C. Pavarno, Kopuawhara, are staying with Mr. and Mrs. J. Savage. Mr. Pavarno recently suffered an injury to his foot. —Miss Beth Fergusson, Ruatoria, is staying with Mrs. H. D. Gardner. —Master Bobby Corcoran, Gisborne, has been spending a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. G. Chalmers, Hautanoa.
Mr. and Mrs. Wynn Barton, Waiau station, have returned from a holiday spent on a tour of the North Island. A working bee of golf enthusiasts has been making good progress on the links burning the long, dry grass. The carpenters are busy at the Tokomaru Bay Native School finishing the new class-room, which was scheduled to be officially opened on February 2, but which has been postponed.
