TURF CLUB MEETING
ACCEPTANCES TO-NIGHT NEXT THURSDAY’S EVENTS With public attention concentrated on tire promise of good sport next week in Gisborne, following on the success of the Wairoa Racing Clubs fixture, it should hardly be necessary to remind owners and trainers ol the closing of acceptances for the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s first-day events on Thursday.
The list of acceptors for all events on the first day of the Poverty Bay meeting will close this evening with the club secretary, Mr. H. E. Dodd, and will be published to-morrow in the Herald. Mr. Dodd was at the Wairoa course yesterday, and a number of Wairoa and. Hawke’s Bay acceptances were notified to him there, the indications being that fields in Gisborne will be even- better than those at the southern centre.
