WORK IN WELLINGTON AVERAGE £7/13/2 A WEEK (Por Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A record payment since 1914 was made by shipping companies to waterside workers of Wellington today, totalling £11,783 for a week’s work to 1538 men, an average of £7 13s 2d. The previous highest total was in March of ’ast year, when £9213 was paid out,in one week. The total payment does not include payment for Harbour Board employees.
