JAPANESE OFFENSIVE TIENTSIN-PUKOW RAILWAY CAPTURE OP FENG YANG PATE OF MISSIONARIES (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Recd| Feb. 3, noon.) SHANGHAI, Feb. 2. A message from Hankow states that a Japanese offensive along the southern section of the Tientsin-Pukow railway is now in full blast. Aeroplanes and artillery are battering the Chinese positions.
The Chinese destroyed a railway bridge on the Hwairi River, south of Pengpu, to which reinforcements arc hastening from Suchow.
All communications have been sus pended.
The Japanese have just announced the capture of Fengyang, 16 miles from Pengpu.
Three American missionaries, Mr. and Mrs. Harsh and Miss Neher, have been missing since December 2. A Shansi story is current that a Japanese sentry shot them for failing to give the password and buried and bodies when 'they were discovered to be foreigners.
