Two eases of typhoid fever, one of which proved fatal, and three suspected cases have been reported from the Maori pa at Ngaruawaljia. Carried through the surl' to the open son when he was swimming at Bayly's Gorge, Dnrgaville, Mr. Joseph Henry Taylor, of Dargavillo, had a narrow escape from drowning. Residents of the district used the life lines of the newly-formed Northern Wairoa Surf Life-Saving Club to bring Mr. Taylor in.
