GARDEN CIRCLE
WTIATATUTU MEETING The members of the Whatalutu Garden Circle met last Friday at the Women’s Institute’s rooms. Keen interest was taken in planning the court in the gladioli show, the arrangements for which are well in hand and will be completed at the institute meeting to be held bn December 10. The exhibits in the flower competitions made a splendid display, the results being:—Vase of one variety of flowers: Mrs. Howard's delphiniums 1; Mrs. Howard’s double purple Canterbury bells, 2; Mrs. Shaw’s cinerarias.' 3. Roses: Mrs. Howard, 1; Miss Howard, 2; Mrs. McLeod, 3. Rhubarb: Mrs. Shaw, 1; Mrs. McLeod, 2; Miss O. Russell, 3. The next circle meeting will be held at Mrs. Shaw’s garden on the first Friday in January, when the competitions will be gladioli, carnations, and a plate of fruit.
