HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

WARNING TO LICENSEES A warning to hotel licensees that they must provide accommodation for the travelling public in compliance with the provisions of the Licensing Act was issued by Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M., chairman of the Buller Licensing Committee, at the quarterly meeting of the committee, says the "Grey Star. "It has come to the knowledge of the resident members of the committee," he said, "that some of the hotels in Westport during the holiday and rush periods have failed to comply with the provisions of the Licensing Act by not making available to members of travelling public accommodation for which their hotels are licensed. The committee will take a serious view of future complaints of this nature, and will require all hotels to comply with the law in this respect. This is not only in fairness to the travelling public, but in fairness to other licensees, who do their part."
