HOPE TO SEE FRANCO

AMERICAN ACTRESS PLEA FOR HUSBAND (Reed. Oct. 13, 9.30 a.m.) PARIS, Oct. 12. The American actress, Mrs. Harold Dahl, who had received the necessary permission from the Spanish rebel authorities, finally decided not to fly to Salamanca with the British pilot, Mr. J. A. Mollison, to visit her husband. Mrs. Dahl decided it would be wiser to go to Salamanca by car, because many planes have been fired on in Spanish territory. She hopes to interview General Franco and bring her husband back. Mr. Dahl, an airman, was taken prisoner after a crash in July. On a charge of "taking arms against the Spanish nation," he was sentenced to death last week, but was subsequently reprieved.
