EAST COAST MEWS

SHOW MEETING (TTernld Correspondent.) A large attendance was present at the Show meeting held in Ruatoria, Mr. .John D. Williams presiding. The meeting was held in order lo see whether the people were keen lo carry on with (he show or not. and it was derided to continue with it. Four members of the ladies' committee retired, Mesdames Bullard, who had left the district. 11. G. Burnett. G. E. Cotterill and C. K. Williams. and those elected in their places were Mesdames Russell. H. F. Smythe, 11. E. Williams and Miss 1). Clarke. Mr. J. E. F. Sharland was elected president, and Messrs. D. Kirkham, H. E. Williams and B. C. Watkins vicepresidents. Miss Brenda Ludbrook continues her duties as secretary. Mrs. N. C. Hughes and Mrs. J. E. F. Sharland have been chosen lo represent the northern district. Mrs. T. 11. Reedy was nominated to run the native section and Mr. .1. M. Metfan the school classes. Those present thanked the retiring president. Mi-. J. D. Williams, "Kaharau," Ruatoria.—Miss .1 Wickstccd, Ruatoria, is spending a holiday in Wellington.—Mr. and Mrs. 11. G. 'Burnett were week-end visitors to Gisbornc.
