NORTH AND SOUTH TITLES
CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF APPROVAL OF CONTESTS PROFESSIONALS EXCLUDED (Par Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The question of holding separate North and South Island championships, in addition to national championships, was discussed at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Golf Association to-day. After considerable discussion it was decided to institute such championships, but to exclude professionals who, it was pointed out, already had their own championship and open in which to compete. The motion was carried by 52 to 43 votes.
