FARMERS' UNION (Herald Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the Tolaga Bav branch of the Farmers' Union was held in the Reynolds Hall on Saturday afternoon,' when Mr. A. Donald presided over a fair attendance of members. The report from the New Zealand conference was discussed. A reply from the Gisborne executive was received with regard to the water supply for the Coast road. The reply was considered unsatisfactory and" the secretary was instructed to write to the executive to that effect. Women's Division of the Farmers' Union A meeting of the Tolaga Bay branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was held in the Parish Hall on Saturday afternoon, when Mrs. C. U. O'Connell presided over a fair attendance of members and guests. Those present were Mesdamcs O'Connell, A. J. Appleton, secretary, A. Donald, C. Spencer, C. R. Mackintosh. A. Marsh, H. R. Irving, J. M. Fraser, H. C. Eraser, and A. Campbell; Misses Hall, A. L. Moore, C. Atkinson, and .1. Donald. Apologies I for absence were received from Mesdamcs G. and M. Fitzgerald, F. W. Shelton, A. Cranswick, R. P. Martin and .1. Gardiner. The meeting was opened by the reading of the creed by Miss Hall. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem, the accompaniment being played by Mrs. Mackintosh. The proposed dental clinic was discussed at length, and it was decided that the secretary, Mrs. Appleton, should confer with Mr. D. M. Gracie, the secretary of the Primary Schools' Committee, Gisborne, upon the matter. Miss Hall, who had lately returned from a visit to Pukekohe, brought greetings and good wishes from the branch of the Women's Division there. Competitions and musical items were much enjoyed, after which a delicious afternoon tea was served. Miss C. Atkinson gave a delightful rendering of "She is far from the Land," the accompaniment being played by Miss Moore. An amusing "title" competition was won by Mrs. O'Connell. The "bring and buy" stall, in charge of Mrs. A. Donald was well patronised.
