PROSPECT PROMISING
DREDGING FOR GOLD CENTRAL OTAGO (Special to tlia Herald.) DUNEDIN, this day. “The prospects of river dredging in Central Otago appear to be very promising,” said the manager of the Molyneux Gold Dredging Company’s dredge at Clyde, Mr. R. P. Opie, who is visiting Dunedin. “This remark must be qualified, of course, because the dredges on the river at the present time are working ground which is unproved. It is not like operating on ground that has been bored and tested and in which a company knows exactly where its best prospects are. “Nevertheless, our returns are satisfactory, even although we are covering a portion of the river that has been dredged before. It will be probably about 18 months before we reach ground that has not previoulsy been worked.”
