CHANGES IN GISBORNE
IMPROVEMENTS NOTED MR. ERIC MORSE'S VISIT Many changes in Gisborne have been noted by Mr. Eric S. Morse, Lyttelton, a former Gisborne resident who is paying a short holiday visit to the town after an absence of 16 years. Mr. Morse was at one time engaged in the timber industry on the Coast with his brother. Mr. Charles Morse, now Mayor of Napier. Yesterday Mr. Eric Morse visited friends on the Coast and he intends remaining in Gisborne for a few days before resuming his tbur of the North Island.
Since his arrival in Poverty Bay Mr. Morse has noticed in particular the improvements that have been effected to the roads, and the comparative comfort in which one can travel about the district. The visitor was somewhat surprised, too, at the advancement the town itself had made and noted with interest its general tidiness and air of progressiveness.s Mr. Morse, who is also a brother of Mr. Ralph Morse, Gisborne, is now engaged in the picture business in Lyttelton. The visitor is accompanied by his wife and son and daughter. They are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. Mbrae, Waikanae Beach.
