RAKAUROA NEWS
PATUTATTf. GOLFERS’ VISIT
(Horalil Correspondent.) During the week-end members of the Patutahi Golf Club paid a visit to Rakauroa. Ideal weather conditions favoured the visitors and some very interesting games were played. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the ladies,'after which Mr. Cusack, on behalf of the visitors, thanked the Rakauroa resklents for the enjoyable day’s outing. Mr. J. White replied on behalf of the Rakauroa golfers. The results of some of the games were as follows, the visitors’ names being mentioned first in each case:— Ladies.—Mrs. Smith lost to Miss K. Shaw; Mrs. Pere won from Mrs. Beaufoy; Miss Pere halved with Mrs. J. White.
Men.—T. Pere won from It. Shaw; G. Anderson won from F. McLean; W. Renner won from F. Shaw; L. Smith won from B. Gibbertson; J. Dods halved with ,1. White; J. Edwards won from J. Tombleson; Monteith won from D. Danger; Cusack won from R. C. Bcaufoy: MeWhirter lost to F. Bcaufoy; Aitchenson lost to F. Tombleson; B. Jackson won from 1. Smith; Wickers won from T. Redpath.
Others present, most of whom were players, included Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Malawai), Mr. and Mrs. Smart, Mesdames Pritchard, Tombleson, Miller and Redpath; Misses V. McLean, M. Langer, L. and K. Bcaufoy, B. and E. Smart, L. Rathie; Messrs. T. Tombleson and D. Smart and R. Bilham.
Mrs. A. Picket! is spending a holiday in Hawke's Bay. Mrs. W. E. Shaw returned from Rotorua during the week-end. —Messrs. A. Davidson and W. Barwick have been spending a holiday in Napier.—Miss B. Smart, who has been absent from the district for several months, returned to hei home during the wcek-enct.
