PRIVY COUNCIL APPEAL

CONDITIONAL LEAVE Me ARTHUR LITIGATION (Por Prims Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. In the Appeal Court case the Pacific Exploration Company, Limited (in liquidation) and another versus J. W. P. McArthur, application was made this morning by Mr. R. E. Tripe on behalf of McArthur for conditional leave to appeal to the Privy Council from ,the judgment of the Court of Appeal pronounced in this matter on June 7 last, and also for an order for a stay of execution. The court made an order granting the conditional leave, security of £SOO to be given by McArthur within three months. It was stated that the stay of execution could be granted on special grounds only and fione had been shown. On the contrary, there were reasons why it should not be gi anted and it accordingly was refused.
