CANTERBURY FARMER MR, W. K. Me ALPINE . (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH,"Iast night. The death has occurred of Mr. W. K. McAlpine, chairman of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, aged 66. Mr. McAlpine, who was a prominent North Canterbury farmer, was formerly a master mariner in the emplay of the New Zealand Shipping Company. He was president of the South Island Travel Association, chairman of the Waipara County Council and chairman of the National Party’ committee in the Hurunui electorate.
