ASSEMBLY FOR MUSEUM SUM OF £175 REQUIRED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The bones of .the racehorse Phar Lap are to be assembled when the necessary funds of £175 are available. The skeleton will be placed in the National War Memorial Museum.j The museum director stated that the heart had been taken out and it was found to show the great strength of the record-breaker, being about twice the normal size. The brain was also taken out but, unfortunately, the veterinary surgeon who performed Die operation in New York was a little rough and sawed the back of the skull. The bones arc otherwise in good order and the defects in the skull can be remedied.
