TRAFFIC RECEIPTS RISE

INCREASE IN BRITAIN GAIN FOR HALF YEAR (British Official Wireless.) RUGBBY, July 8. The traffic receipts for the first half of the year on the main lines of British railways show a gain of £3,545,000, as compared with the figures for the first 26 weeks of 1936. That period in turn showed takings £l,819,000 above those of the first half of 1935.

To the total advance of £3,545,000, passengers contributed £1,426,000, merchandise £904,500, and coal and coke £1,214,500.
