FEILDING STOCK SALE RECORD SHEEP YARDING FAT VALUES FIRMER (Pit Press Association.) FEILDING. last night. A firm demand for all classes of sheep was maintained at the weeldy stock sale at Fed ding to-day. The yarding was a record one for sheep. All fat lines firmed in price. The cattle sale was quiet, except for dairy lines, which advanced considerably. Fat cattle made good values, prime lines of station-bred female beef meeting with a firm sale. For store lines there was little choice offering. Following is the range of prices:— Fat sheep.—Prime ewes. 30s to 32s 9d; medium, 27s Gd to 28s lOd: others, 22s to 2<Js. .Lambs, best. 275: light, 21s lid to 24s 3d. Wethers, prime. 33s 8d to 36s:.others, 28s„to 32S 3d.
Store sheep.—Four and five-year ewes, 28s to 30s; .five-year ewes, 22s 6d to 24s Id: four-year ewes, 28s 4d to 30s 6d: m.a. ewes, 27s to 28s; two-tooth ewes, best, 41s 6d to 43s Gd; others, 32s ,6d to 36s 6d; two-tooth wethers, 22s Gd to 24s Id; ewe lambs, 24s Id to 32s Gd; wethers, do., 20s to 21s Gd. Store cattle. —Two-year steers, £G 17s; yearling steers, £4 to £4 10s; pedigree vveaner heifers, 4Jgns; grade Lifers, £2 5s to £3 15s; forward cows, £3 5s to £4 Is Fat cattle. —Cows, £U 12s Gd to £8 'l2s Gd: heifers, £8 5s to £8 18s Gd; cows, ex-dairy, £4 5s to £0 17s Gd. Dairy cattle. —Cows near profit, £7 10s to £9 15s; backward, £4 5s to £0 15s; springing heifers, £0 5s to £8 15s: late calvers, £3 15s to £5.155: heifers in milk, £8 ss.
TE PUKE SHORTHORN HERD AVERAGE PRICE £7/14/At the Te Puke Stock sale this week there was only a medium yarding of cattle, principally boners and dairy cows. Prices were:-jr- .. . > Light fat cows and* heifers, £3 10s to £4 10s: heavy boners, £3 10s to £4 2s; lighter, 38s to £3 12s; cull cows, in calf to Shorthorn bulls, £3'lßs; bulls, to £4.155. -A- line of Shorthorn-cross' dairy cows on account of Mr. P. Sorrenson sold readily under keen competition at from £5 10s to £9 10s. The whole herd averaged £7 14s. Friesian cows, close to profit, made £5 10s to £lO 10s; other dairy cows, £5 5s to £6 15s; good-conditioned hoggets, 21s Gd; porker's, 32s -6d to £2 11s; store pigs, 20s to 265; wefaners, 4s Gd to 11s.
-NUKUHOU DAIRY HERD
PRICES CP TO £l6/5/Mr. D. C. Anderson, Nukuhou, this Week sold the whole of his dairy herd, comprising 92 springing cows and three empty cows, 13 springing heifers and two pedigree Jersey bulls. The quality of the stock was exceptionally good and, as Mr. Anderson has; had his pows tested for years, and was able to supply figures regarding butterl'at production, these cows met with a very keen demand. The top price was £16.55, for a cow of proven prolific butterfat production, find which conformed to the ideal type of dairy cow. Springing heifers were in very good demand, and well formed and promising-looking heifers made UP to £9 2s 6d. The average price for the cows was slightly over £9 7s. The average price for springing heifers was approximately £7 4s. A small line of good quality pigs was offered and the top price for inpig sows was £5 ss, while the rest of the sows realised in the vicinity of 4?gns. Two boars were sold at a disappointing price, a good young boar realising only 2Jgns. Under keen competition 14 slips sold for 15s Cd.
, PIGS AT MATAWIIERO No big pigs were offered in the small yarding of pigs yesterday at the v/eekly stock sale conducted by the Poverty Bay Stockbrokers’ Association at the Mntowhero saleyards. Fifty pigs were offered and the quality was fairly good. Weaners of good quality sold tor 13s to 15s; slips, small, 9s; better slips, 9s to lGs 'Cd; fair-sized stores, 18s Cd to 245; and porkers, 26s 6d to 38s.
WORKSOP DIVIDEND (Per Proas Association.) GREYMOUTH, this day. The Worksop Dredging Company has declared a dividend of 10 per cent. All the capital has now been returned the shareholders.
LONDON WOOL SALES Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Company, Limited, are in receipt of the following cable message from London; “The wool sales continue brisk, and the market firm. Compared with the opening rates, scoured Merino best advanced 5 per cent; and slipe, crossbred, par to 5 per cent.” Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Lifnited, have received the following advice from London, dated July 9:— “The London wool sales continue firm and active. Prices have hardened all round since the opening.”
