TRAIN STOPPED
INJURED MAN IN TUNNEL BRISBANE, June 27. After falling from a carriage platform on the Rockhampton mail train while travelling through a tunnel between Brisbane Central and Roma street stations yesterday morning, Horace Fysh, aged 49, storekeeper, of New Farm, had his left foot badly crushed by a carriage wheel. The injured man struggled on his hands and knees towards the mouth of the tunnel, when he saw an inbound suburban passenger train approaching. Kneeling in the centre of the rails Mr. Fysh frantically shouted and waved his arms to attract the attention of the engine crew. He was seen, and the train was stopped within a few feel of him. Mr. Fysh was taken to the General Hospital and is in a serious condition.
