Passengers by the Mariposa, which is proceeding to Auckland, included Sir Maynard and Lady Hedstrom, of Suva; Dr. Luther, the retiring German Ambassador at Washington; M. J. Tremoulet, the French Consul-General at Sydney, and formerly at Barcelona; and Mr. Charles Chauvel, the film producer, with the story of the film, “For Services Rendered,” which he proposes to produce in Australia with the co-operation of the Government and the military authorities.
NEW BUILDING PLANNED (Pur Press Association.) WHANGAREI, this day. The first session of the Supreme
Court in Whangarei, was due to commence to-day, but owing to the fact that a new building has not been constructed, the cases were adjourned to Auckland.
Preliminary plans for the new building in Bank street have been submitted to the Law Society for suggestions. The building promises to be a fine addition to the architecture of Whangarei.
