British Films
QEORGE Arliss, the veteran British film star, advised England recently not to try to compete with United States motion pictures. Speaking before the Royal Society of Arts, the actor said;—
“America can afford to spend £200,000 on a film and still make a profit.
“England cannot spend half that sum without courting disaster. My opinion is that the future for England studios lies in making British films at moderate prices for the English markef.”
