APPOINTMENT TO BOARD ~ r { MISTAKE Ii\ T GAZETTE t Who is Wilfred John Walker, who, according to an Order*in-Council published in the Gazette, has been ap- ' pointed a member of the Marshland Domain Board? asks the Christchurch * Star-Sun. The answer, the journal , adds, is that no person bearing that “• name has been appointed to the board. What has happened is that ; the Executive Council, sitting at the Government Buildings, Wellington, on -I June 23, has made a mistake—an ex:lf tremely rare occurrence. Wilfred i John Walker does not exist, but there i is a Wilfred John Walter, who was Z recommended for appointment as a member of the board. Z It is not clear what will happen now. The Order-in-Council is couched in all the official verbiage requircd for such a document, and amounts to a proclamation by the GovernorZ General, L6rd Galway, and signed by Mr. A, W. Mulligan, as acting- ** clerk of the Executive Council, i, The board consists of nine members, ; and eight of them have been given * their correct names. They are: Wilrjliam Pritchard Spencer, Herbert Ash- “ ton, Herbert Free, William Waugh, '! Richard Henry Monk, Frank Gage, r Arthur John Sanders, and Harry r fjiruce Hibbard.
