Judge Harold Carr, of the Native Land Court, East Coast and Rotorua district, is a visitor to Wellington. Mr. W. Oakdon, •secretary of the Gisborne Returned Soldiers’ Association, has returned to duty after a period of leave. Miss Audrey Savory, of the Waikato Hospital Board’s staff in Hamilton,, is spending her holidays with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Savory, Whitaker street. A resident of New Zealand for 65 years, Mr. P. Thomsen, Chunk-lands, Hamilton, celebrated his ninety-second I Hit Inlay on Sunday. Mr. Thomsen, who is a Dane, has been 65 years in the Dominion. Mr. T. French left Gisborne yesterday morning to temporarily take over tinduties of stock inspector in Wuiroa in the absence of Mr. R. deß. Hill, who has been transferred, and pending the arrival of the new inspector for the Wairoa district. Mr. French is expected back in Gisborne at the end of the week. Passengers by East Coast Airways' planes between Gisborne and Napier yesterday included Mesdaiues Halpin and Barker; Misses Blunt, Kane, .Maxwell. Dunbar, Grey and Gallic ; Messrs. T. C. Jackson, Ngata, Wood, Smith, Goodman. Smellio, .1. Mcbouglilin, T. .McLaughlin. Porter, Karhere, .McGinnis, McFarlane, Cray, Park, Nicholls, Tillson and Master N’iciiolls. Mr. S. J. Smith, secretary of the Cook Islands Department, W'eliinglon, arrived at Auckland by the Limerick after spending some weeks in the Cook Islands inaugurating the system ol Government, control of fruit from tlngroup. Mr. Smith will return to the i ook Islands to assume the position of Itesident Commissioner, in succession to Mr. 11. P. Ayson. Chief Judge, who is returning to New Zealand after more Ulan 20 years’ service.
