LOFTY PEAK SCALED YOUNG BRITISH CLIMBER (Reed. May 29, 9.30 a.m.) ' SIMLA, May 28. It is reported from Kalimpong that the 30-year-old British explorer, Mr. |<\ Spencer Chapman, climbed Ml. Ohonolhari, the 23,930 ft. Himalayan peak on the Bhutan-Tibet border.

Hitherto it has been believed that the peak could not be climbed. Mr. Chapman was accompanied by only one native,, porter.
