WOMAN FOUND SHOT

DISCOVERY AT ROTOITI The discovery of the body of a young woman lying at the entrance to a shack at Talmna, Rotoiti, near Hongi s Track, was made on Wednesday when two native women were passing the vicin ly. Investigations carried out by the police showed that the victim was Audrey Hazelman, aged 20, single, whose parents reside at Mount Smart road, Onehunga, Auckland. Resting on the doorstep of tho sliacK was a .303 rifle with a cleaning rod attached to the trigger. When discovered by the police the woman was lying on the ground outside the entrance to the shack with the barrel of tho rifle pointing toward her and tho cleaning rod still attached to the trigger. The bullet had entered her groin, inflicting extensive injuries.
