SUB-UNION COMMITTEE PIRATE SENIORS DISBAND REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES (Herald Correspondent.) The withdrawal of a senior club from the district competitions, owing to its inability to muster a full side, was notified at tlm weekly meeting of the Wairoa Rugby ,Sub-union committee, held on Tuesday evening, the committee granting transfers to several players from that club to others.
'1 here were present at the meeting Messrs. F. 11. Mnrclon, chairman, It. Goodlev, W. Brownlie, V T . 0. Hall, J. Hodgson, P. Bates, ,1. Raureti, 11. McDonald, L. Gay, B. Parkinson, and C. Stone, lion, secretary. .The club affected by lack of playing strength in the senior ranks was Pirates, indications of the withdrawal having been given previously to the executive of the sub-union. It was intimated on this occasion that all efforts to keep the senior team going had been fruitless. Several players of the club were regraded as juniors, these comprising :M. Law. J. Mulhern, P. Sullivan, 11. Howell, and J. Muir, while 11. Brady, 11. A. Bussell, J. Boag, ,T. Harvey and B. Rees were granted leave to transfer to the Old Boys’ club as seniors. The executive dealt, with the cases ol two players, one from Hiknrnngi and the other from Whakaki, against whom allegations of rough play were 'made. The two players were stood down for six weeks as a disciplinary measure. In connection with the junior ropre sentalivo match between Wairoa and Poverty Bay, set down for .lone !l in Wairoa, it. was decided to ask the Hawke’s Bay union to send its junior selector to Wairoa for the game. The matter of a contribution In the cost of bringing the Hawke’s Bay senior representative learn to Wairoa for. a fixture promised by the parent, union v/as discussed, and il was agreed that, a contribution of Clf> should be offered. A donation of E2< 2s towards the King George V memorial fund was approved. Saturday’s Matches Fixtures for to-morrow were drawn as under: — Seniors.-- Old Boys v.
