OBITUARY
MR STANLEY IT. SWAIN'
Deep sympathy will be extended to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Swain. 180 Bright street, on the loss of their 20-year-old son, Stanley Henry Swain, who died in Gisbone this mormngi after an illness.
Born in Nelson, the deceased accompanied his parents to Gisborne 12 years ago and attended the Gisborne School. Latterly he had been working with his father, who is an engineer. Following a short service in Holy Trinity Church, the funeral will leave at 2 p.m. ou Saturday for the Taruheru cemetery.
MRS. A. L. AMUNDSEN The death of Mrs. Catherine Amundsen, wife of Mr. Albert Ludwig Amundsen, occurred at her residence, Whatatutu, yesterday. The deceased, who had reached her sixty-third year, was born at Puhoi, Noiih Auckland, and her recollections went back to early days of settlement in that district. Coming to Poverty Bay in 1896, the late Mrs. Amundsen resided for five years on the. Coast before moving to Whatatutu, where she passed the next 18 years of her life. Mrs. Amundsen afterwards lived in Mangapapa for 10 years before returning to Whatatutu. She had resided at Whatatutu ever since.
Bsidos hero husband, the deceased leaves seven daughters, Mrs. A. Bird, Rotor.ua, Mrs. O. Remnant, Dannevirke, Mrs. C. Baker, Napier, Mrs. A. Sutherland, Kanakanaia, Mrs. G. Nicoll, Moanui, Mrs. A. Flight, Hastings, and Mrs. 11. Rigncy, Gisborne, and two sons, Mr. S. Amundsen, Auckland, and Mr. A. Amundsen, Whatatutu.
The funeral will leave St. Mary's Church, Lowe street, to-morrow, for the Taruheru cemetery,
