MEETING OF COMMITTEE
STEWARDS APPOINTED
Wirli the idea oC encouraging competitors to appear in appropriate dress, it was decided at a meeting of the rodeo committee of the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association to offer special prizes for the first and second best cowboy turn-out at the forthcoming rodeo. The programme is 10 commence at 11 a.m. with the inter-dis-trict teams competition, to be followed by the local teams and open competitions run in conjunction. Calf and bronco riding will be interspersed throughout the day. The following stewards were appointed:—Gates, Messrs. F. Tojertou and V. Caulton; parking, Messrs. E. E. Blach, chief, It. W, Parker. 11. Cave, and Jus. Graham; scouts, Mr. E. A. Cameron, chief; free buses, Mr. A. C. Langford; mounted, Mr. H. Allen, members of the Young Farmers' Club, Messrs. F. Evans and \V. Dolman; competitors, Messrs. T. IT Bell and G. H. Sceats; horses and calves, Messrs. L. G. Woodward and A. Mossman; announcer, Mr. A. & Parker; cattle, Messrs. J. Fivers and It. Graham, chief, and balance of tho committee. A proposal from Mr. E. T. Doddroll, jun., to make, a motion picture of the rodeo was approved. A donation from Mr. C. W. L. Jox-Blako of two sheep, to bo used for a competition, was gratefully accepted. It was reported that the catering would be undertaken by a strong committee of Waerenga-a-hika ladies. The - committee decided to invito Gisborne Sound System to operate its public address system. In view of the possibility of riders from this district visiting Sydney next year, it was decided to adopt the Australian type of surcingle.■
