ACCREDITING SYSTEM

DOMINION SUGGESTION

MATRICULATION PUPILS

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day

The introduction of accrediting for entrance examinations was suggested by Mr. F. Martyn Rcnner, the principal of liongotai College, in a report presented to the Wellington Colleges Boards ol Governors.

After drawing attention to the invidious position of pupils in this year's matriculation forms, Mr. Renner said: "I consider this year is an appropriate time to introduce some modified form of accrediting of candidates, in conjunction with the university examination, of a standard modified, if necessary, to make • allowance for the abnormal conditions under which the schools have been working. I suggest that each principal forward, with the list of candidates, records showing the term marks and the term examination of each candidate ovei the past, three years, together with an individual report dealing with application ahd effort and indicating whether, in the principal's opinion, the candidate should or should not be granted a pass."
