Mrs. P. •). Read and Mr. G. Beets were successful in winning the euchre tournament at the Motu Hall on .Saturday night. The tournament, combined with a dance, had been arranged by the Motu Football Club, and although there was not a very large attendance, a most enjoyable evening was spent. Mrs. O. Whitehead was tbe musician and Mr. L. Castles was M.C, A novelty dance was won by Miss M. Jackson and Mr. (.:. Derecourt, and Mrs. G. Hutchins and Mr. I). Richardson received other prizes.
The Molu School reopened on Monday with an attendance of 14, only three children being absent. Mr. V. Grnlmin, Hastings, has been appointed as relieving teacher. Miss C. Fleming, C.isborne, lias taken up Tier duties as relieving teacher at the Motuhora School.—Miss Shiela Twisleton, who underwent an operation in the Cook Hospital last Friday, is making steady progress.—Mr. and Mis. A. Baity returned to Gisborne on Monday after spending a week as the guests of Mr. W. nartv. Waitangirua.~--.Miss Peg. Twisleton returned to Motu from Morrinsville on Monday.—Miss Mono Derecourt, .Motuhora. returned to Whakatane on Monday to resume her studies at the High School,
