SUGGESTIONS DENIED
DUNEDIN LABOUR MEMBER | "SOLD" liV (JOV.KRNMRNT CONTROL OF PARTY (Por Press Association.) DUXEDIX, last night. An allegation that Dr. D. G. McMillan, M.P., had stated that the unemployed, as well as others in the community, had been sold by the Labour Government, was made by Mr, F McComish, representing the Duuetliii branch of the unemployed workers' movement, which had mot the three local members of Parliament. One of the members had stated thai lie fell almost a hypocrite in asking the unemployed to he patient with the Government just a little longer, but he would make that request to them, said Mr. MeC.imish. When I was asked to stand for Parliament I was led to believe that Parliament would be controlled by the rank and file of the party. Instead of that we have ii controlled by II men who are incapable of doing it." "That statement." Mr. McComish rdded, "was made by one of the best I,about' members in Xew Zealand." ' A voi'C: Dr. McMillan .' Mr. McComish: .1 won't deny it. "The whole thing is a tissue of inaccuracies," Dr. McMillan said when the statements made by y\r. M.Comish. were referred to him by le'ephone at Invercargill to-night. "Those statements were not made, .and I not only dissociate myself from them, but flatly deny that I said anything- ot the kind,'' he added, "and no statements resembling those alleged wore e\ er made.''
