AUCKLAND MAYOR'S HONOUR
Generous tributes to the services rendered to the city of Auckland by the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, were paid by members of the Auckland City Council when the council offered its congratulations and placed them on record in the form, of a resolution.
The deputy-Mayor, the Hon. B. Martin, moved a, resolution that the council tender Sir Ernest its heartiest congratulations on the honour conferred upon him by His Majesty the King in recognition of his distinguished public service to the city of Auckland. "We believe that the honour is richly deserved and express the hope that Sir Ernest and Lady Davis may long be spared for the lull enjoyment of the happiness associated with the distinction," added, the resolution.
