APPEAL TO BRITAIN
EMPIRE PLAN DISLIKED
WASHINGTON, April 28. Mr. Farrell, former president of the United States Steel Corporation, in an address to the National Chamber ol Commerce, proposed that Britain should abandon the preferential trade system with Empire countries, and align her foreign commercial policy more closely with America.
He asserted that the British system was political in origin and incompatible with the most-favourcd-natiou clause.
