MURIWAI NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) Under the auspices of the Mutual Improvement Association a very successful dance was held iu the Muriwai Hull on Saturday evening. In spite of the inclement weather there was a very fair attendance, the dancers enjoying the music supplied by Gie Krazy Kat orchestra. The proceeds of the dance should prove very gratifying to the promoter. Air. \V. Toroa acted ns M.C. After having resided in 'Muriwai for a long period Air. Kalmtin. To Han has left to take up his residence in Gisborne, when* he has lately taken a position in the Native Lands Otl'ice. Mr. To Han has taken an active interest ia the affairs of the district, being the present .secretary of tho Muriwai school committee and a member of the Maori Council. As a returned soldier, he lias always taken a prominent part in the Anzac Day celebrations which are featured iu Muriwai. .Mrs. Bey Laing lias returned to Muriwai.—Mr. IL Dobson, of Pakoultai, has left for Gisborne.—Miss iv. Marlell is staying with Mrs. R. Laing. -—.Mr. I!, .lottos lias returned after a vacation in the south.
