HALL COMMITTEE DANCE RACE DAY FINALE (Herald Correspondent.) As a fitting finale to the day's festivities, the Makarakn-Matawhcro Hall was en fete for a very jolly dance organised by the hall committee on Thursday night. There, was a good attendance of dancing enthusiasts, and a very enjoyable time was spent.

The hall was effectively decorated with coloured streamers and greenery, while palm fronds and bowls of geraniums offset the stage. Mrs. Menzies' orchestra supplied the music for the dancing, modern and old-time airs being equally popular. Enjoyable extras were contributed by .Messrs. Jephson and J. Kobinson. The duties of M.C. were capably controlled by Mr. MeKnighl.

The Monte Carlo waltz attracted all, the .winners being Miss Turei and partner, while the lucky spot one step was won by Miss P. Parker and Mr. A. Hills. A dainly super was served by the ladies, the' tables being decorated with bowls of African marigolds and dahlias.
