SUITS FILED IN SYDNEY (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Pross Assn.; , (Reed. Feb. 12. 12 noon) SYDNEY, Feb. 12. Thirteen policemen have issued writs out of the Supreme Court, each claiming £IO,CCO damages against the nominal defendant, the Under-Secretary of Jus tice.
The cause of the action has not been disclosed, but it, has been staled that the action against the Government is being taken by members of the force, who were dismissed in December following the report of Mr. .Tutsice Markell on the inquiry inco the methods ol the police in making raids on premises suspected as centres of illegal betting.
