MEMORIAL TO KING
£532.000 IN FUND CONTRIBUTIONS CONTINUE (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9.30 a.m. RUGBY, Feb. 11. The Lord Mayor's fund for the national memorial to King George V now amounts to £532.659, not taking into account gifts of land of an estimated value of more than £IOO,OOO.
From the beginning of the recent scheme whoreunder the owners of banking accounts were invited to transfer the odd shillings and pence from their accounts to the memorial fund, the sum of £196.000 has been added to the fund. Of this total £95,686 is represented by bankers' coupons. Contributions are still being received.
