STRIKES BY LIGHTNING
DAMAGE AT FACTORY
FARMER KNOCKED DOWN SERVICES DISLOCATED (IVr Press Association.) ASHBURTON, this day. A severe electrical storm, accompanied by heavy hail, passed over the country last evening.
Lightning knocked a big hole in a chimney of the Black-bridge cheese factory. A farmer in the district, Mr. G. .\. Parsons, was knocked down while milking. All the- cows in the shed and also stock in various paddocks were also knocked over.
The whole telephone'system at Hinds
was put out of order and telephones a in. lighting, services were disorganised ii ihe Ashhurton Borough.
