ROMANCE OF THE RING There is romance in plenty in professional boxing. It seems only a short while since I was watching Benny Lynch fight, in Glasgow, soon after he had abandoned :i job as messenger boy, for a few shillings a week. Me is now flyweight champion of the world, commanding £2500 for his next fight, and has just bought himself a new house at Burnside, near Caihkinbraes, Glasgow,—Geoffrev Simpson in the Daily Mail. NOT "BROKE" NOW Dark, rugged. Eddie Maguire, the South African middleweight boxer, ,vho fought Teddy Yarosz in Pittsburg, Philadelphia, recently, is one of Ben Foord's closest friends. The two have been associated since they adopted professional boxing as a career, and both have gone through bad times together. When they left Capetown for England a few months ago, Maguire and Foord had hardly a penny between them, but both are now doing well.
