MEW AWARD MADE

MOTOR BODY BUILDERS 40-HOUR WEEK GRANTED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Arbitration Court resumed its sittings to-day. An award was made in the Wellington and Canterbury icoach and motor body builders’ dispute for a period of six months. It provides for a 40-hour week and the 1931 rates of wages except for helpers in assembly plants, who are lo receive 2s 4.Cl an hour, and helpers in other factories who get 2s 3-Jd. Apprentices who have completed their apprenticeships may ho employed as improvers for not more than .12 months at 2s 3d an hour. The duration of the award is six months from February 1.
