NATIVE SCHOOL CONCERT I! LEAKIN'(.'-IT FUNCTION The Tuhara Native Pel tool held a very successful breaking-up concert and dance at ibe Iwitea Pa llall last Friday. Mr. M, J. t femmell, deputy Mayor of Wai-l-oa. presided and lie. was accompanied by Mrs. 11. L. Marker, Mayoress. Mrs. Oenimell and Miss Gemmoll. The. pupils gave a very creditable performance in part singing, duets, dialogues. dancing and drill, the 'minstrel troupe being particularly entertaining. The following items were also eontiibiitcd, being much enjoyed by the large audience, several recalls being requested. Miss Watson sang ‘ Home J.itlle Maori Home,'’ and slit- also sang in company with Messrs. Ilori Whaanga and George Pete. "Isa I’.ei,” and ‘‘Aloha Oe” : Miss M. Hagan, recitation, "Johnnie washes bis Neck"; Tnketukn party from Wairoa, two action songs: Miss llekatai, tap-dancing; humorous sketch.. "Patching a Ghost,” performed by Misses L. Pi vile, ;d. Watson. Leslie Hagen, and Nil-. I fori Whaaiign. .Misses [.. Pi yde and M. Watson were, the pianists for the concert items.
