Jack McMahon was the one New Zealander to score a win over Cvril Pluto, the brother of Bill I’luto. and the latter is anxious to try his hand at evening nip the balance on behalf of his family. It is a little unfortunate that two of the three matches offered to Pluto—the third offer is from the Christchurch association —should fall on the same date. However, an adjustment is likely to ho arranged, so that Pluto may accept all three offers. The Gisborne association is staging the l'luto-Doii Stirling bout on Wednesday next, and will then release the Sydney man for a time to enable him to tour the Dominion and accept, such matches as’ may be offering; Later Pluto will fight a third contest in Gisborne, before returning home to Australia.
