CROWD STAMPEDES

CUP TIE SPECTATORS MANY PEOPLE INJURED LONDON, Sept. 29. Seven people were taken to hospital, following a stampede by 65,000 spectators after the final whistle in the GlasgowCup tie. A woman who fell at a gate was swept over by the crowd. A number of men attempted to form a barrier, but were overwhelmed, and a score were knocked down and trampled on. Police were rushed to their aid! and the ground was like a field hospital as unconscious men and women were treated by doctors and the ambulance.
