ARABS MAY END STRIKE
SIGNS IN PALESTINE TIME FOR TALK PAST (Reed. Oct. 9, 11.50 a.m.) . JERUSALEM, Oct, 8. The negotiations by Ibn Saud's emissaries with the higher Arab committee Have engendered a hope that the Arabs will terminate the strike in Palestine during the week-end. The firmness displayed by the British forces has caused widespread recognition of the fact that the time for political cajolery is past. A report, from Haifa states that a strong British force located at Mount Carmel 300 rebels whom they are engaging with trench mortars, rifles and machine guns.
