DISMISSED CONSTABLES
PETITION TO PARLIAMENT GISBORNE CONTROVERSY (Parliamentary .Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Alleging that Constable Seandrett, of Gisborne, was wrongfully dismissed from the Police Force, 788 residents of Gisborne have petitioned the House of Representatives through Mr. 1). W. Coleman (Lab., Gisborne) urging that his case he reconsidered, and that he be reinstated. The petitioners state that they are acquainted with the controversy between l lie inspector of police and two constables, and they believe that a miscarriage of justice took place. It was a disadvantage tu the two constables that they should he dismissed, seeing that the appeal hoard’s report must have been in the commissioner's hands for three months, during which time they were unable to seek other employment.
