REPOROA OUTBREAK

A fire which destroyed approximately 100 acres of State forest plantation in the vicinity of Reporoa, Rotonia, occurred lastlSaturday and occasioned soino anxiety. However, gangs of men were quickly rushed to (lie scene and after several hours' strenuous work succeeded in suppressing the outbreak. Upwards of 100 men wore, engaged m the tusk of dealing with the fire, which is believed to have been caused by the careless use of matches among scrub on the edge, of the plantation.
