He felt thai Sir Thomas' heart, as with all good New Zealandors, was here in New Zealand and that New Zealand was the country Sir Thomas would prefer to live in. "Of course I am coming back." said Sir Thomas later. "I. have never had any intention of remaining permanently in England. On every occasion I have had to sign any document or declaration I have always put 'Domiciled in New Zealand' and always will." Sir Thomas added that he had his little plot in the Lower Hutt churchyard. He was coming back to NewZealand as soon as he could.
