TAKEN BY GOVERNMENTS CANADIAN'S WARNING HALIFAX, Aug. .20. A warning against Government infringement in a field formerly reserved for the legal j>rofe.ssion was issued to-day by Mr. George H. Montgomery, K.C., of Montreal, in his presidential address to the twentyfirst annual meeting of the Canadian Bar Association. In Government displacement of private enterprise he envisioned a "growing threat to the welfare of the Canadian bar" as he traced the changes in Government policy which had taken place in the two decades of the association's history.

"It is now quite apparent," he de clared, "that one of the most important competitors of the legal profession in some fields is the Provincial Government."

Ho urged a closer co-operation with the various departments of Government and the society in an attempt to curb, the infringement. ..
