THREAT WITH SPEAR
JAP. ABOARD SAMPAN LOCAL FIJI CRAFT SUVA, Sept. 28. In connection with the recent sampan incident, it is now stated that three local vessels which went alongside when the sampan got off the reef were forcibly cut adrift and a Japanese, with a spear, threatened any who interfered. The sampan made off at 10 knots. It is said to have had 40 tons of troehus shell aboard.
